Matter can be presented in different states, These are the 6 phase changes of state of matter that exist:

  • Melting: Changing from solid to liquid.
  • Freezing: Changing from liquid to solid.
  • Vaporization: Changing from solid to liquid. An example of vaporization is the evaporation of rubbing alcohol from skin into the air.
  • Condensation: Changing gas to liquid. An example of condensation is the formation of dew.
  • Sublimation: Changing from solid to gas. An example of sublimation is the changing  from ice directly into water vapor on a cold, windy winter day.
  • Deposition: Changing from gas to solid.
